Although I have not spoken to all the Doctors yet today, Stan is doing better. He was up for about 2 hours this morning,he ate a little (and kept it down) and we hope to go for a small walk this afternoon when he gets up. They were unable to get any fluid when they did the spinal tap,but they believe he has a viral infection,so they are slowly taking him off the antibiotics and upping the anti-viral meds. He will probably be released from the hospital sometime tomorrow. He is also now on blood pressure medicine,so that should help too. I will probably update this later tonight when I get more info and get back to the apartment--but I wanted everyone to know that things are looking better and hopefully we will be on the road to recovery!!!!
Thank you for all your prayers!!!!!!!!!!
And thank you to everyone who writes on the blog or emails me---these have been my support during this stressful week---I look forward to reading them everyday!!!

Leslie - Amen!We are thrilled to hear Stan is feeling a little better.Baby steps are just as important right now as leaps and bounds. It sounds like he is almost back in "the dance". Please tell him I said to drink, drink, drink. Get those fluids in (unless for some reason the dr. says not to)Tell him Judy W. told me last night she thinks she was uglier than Stan or me. I'll save that for when I talk to Stan on the phone. I can tell from the blog you are doing a great job as his caregiver. It must be hard seeing that you are all alone. You are only alone physically. Everyone at home is praying and cheering you on. You are both marked as Christ's own and He will see you through this as He watches over you.
Give a huge hug to the big guy for me.
Love and Blessings - Donna W.
Hear, hear to the fact that you are only there alone when you look around. We're all there, too, looking on and doing whatever small thing we can to get you through.
Love you very much. Don't tell Stan that the Bills, in typical Buffalo fashion, choked away their first game of the season.
They, too, face a long road!
Love, Pete
Oh Leslie, that is wonderful news--thank you God! Even small steps are great accomplishments. I know people at school are thinking about you all too....boy it's crazy, at least that will be settled down whenever you get home!! Schedule this year for me is great, loving it and so is Scott. Seniors, we get to graduate---YEAH!! ha ha Then where will they put me....yikes! I will be checking back, take care and keep the faith.
Hugs
Melinda
Dear Leslie,
This is my first blog comment ever--do I win a prize of some kind? :-)
I have been praying for you and Stan today, and I am so thrilled to read that he is better today. We also prayed for you both in Bible study last night--and many of the women don't even know you both! God does answer prayer.
What a partner Stan has in you. Thank you for the faithful updates and your honesty--it will help us to know how to pray for you both.
Just to echo Donna's comment, I was really ugly without hair--and I remember how cold I was without something covering my head!
We send our love and prayers to you,
Judy and Tony
Leslie, I'm "Richard" in the recent clltopics.org article "Catch-22." Just wanted you to know that my wife and I are cheering you on from Southern California, and praying for Stan's continued recovery as well as strength for you as his loving caretaker. Although we've never met, your experiences are extremely real to us as we're just a few months behind you on this rocky transplant road-- the only way for Stan and me to be cured of CLL.
Sincerely, Richard
